Our Work

Here is a sample of the work done by Operation Organize:

Milverton Women’s Initiative Committee (ongoing)

Since 2007, Operation Organize has been involved in the creation of an annual “Evening to Celebrate International Women’s Day”. The event's goal is to fundraise for the Helen Barker Scholarship. In six years, the event has attracted over 2,150 women and granted 18 scholarships to local young people to assist with their post-secondary education.

Perth East Public Library (2005-2012)

As CEO of the Perth East Public Library, Patti Henhoeffer was responsible for the daily management of the library as well as supporting the Municipally appointed library board and representing the board to the Municipal Council. She was involved in the construction of the new building and co-ordinated the successful move of over 18,000 books and 13 networked computers in just one day when the Perth East Public Library transferred operations from its old location to the new facility.

Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation (ongoing)

Helen Dowd co-authored a research project creating an inventory of all Perth County events, dates, and fundraising profitability for use by the organization. The report was commissioned by the SPCCF in order to identify the most appropriate fundraising vehicle for the Foundation given the environment in which it operates. This report resulted in the creation of the annual Mayors’ Gala which has been hosted for the past four years and has generated over $225,000 to fund the SPPCF’s operations.

Milverton Agricultural Society (ongoing)

As past Board Members of the Milverton Agricultural Society, both Patti and Helen have played a part in the growth that resulted in the creation of the Milverton Farmers’ Market, the annual Earth Day event and a Demolition Derby. Their communication and visioning skills have helped to unite a group of volunteers into a strong board that was able to construct a new facility in Milverton. Helen acted as the project manager and fundraising co-chair on the $400,000 capital building project that began in 2009 and has raised over $320,000 to date from various sources such as grants, donations, and community sponsorships.

 Milverton RAM Rodeo (ongoing)

Helen is responsible for chairing the largest community event in Perth East. Milverton’s RAM Rodeo is the longest consecutively running rodeo in Ontario. Since 1991 this event has raised over $275,000 that has been re-invested in the community.

Milverton Co-op Nursery School (2001-2005)

Operation Organize collaborated with Ministry, City and Board of Education officials to ensure that the Milverton Nursery School was compliant in all areas of operating licensed childcare programs. We helped develop a vision, managed the growth and implemented new marketing initiatives to expand services over a three year period from one program serving 14 families and $15,000 in revenue to a diversified organization offering four programs (for children ages 0-12) serving 160 families and $63,000 in revenue.

Zorra Caledonian Society (ongoing)

Helen created and produced a 75th Anniversary gala event including the creation of a tartan registered with the Scottish Tartan Authority and history book and DVD. Operation Organize facilitated a strategic planning session to establish a vision for the future that focuses on the mandate of preserving the culture and history of Zorra Township.

Knollcrest Lodge (2011-2012)

Operation Organize created and delivered a Community Volunteer Workshop for 30 associations designed to help not-for-profit organizations enhance the volunteer experience. Other projects were completed that identified various sources of grant funding and submitted applications to support a large scale capital project.

Lloyd Olgivie Memorial Synchronized Skating Competition (2006)

Six months were spent planning this two-day event which required coordinating the combined efforts of 20 sub-chairs. Together, the committee hosted 1,200 competitors and welcomed 3,400 visitors while raising $16,000 profit for our community.

Mornington Communications Co-operative (2007)

Helen organized the first annual Customer Appreciation BBQ at the Perth East Recreation Complex with over 500 people attending.
